thanks. my frustration is that I am with wordpress.com which doesn’t allow plug-ins. I don’t know if I get enough traffic that I would make anything either. Do you try to get steady readership and then upgrade to your own hosted site and add money generating plug-ins?

rjlight - If you put ads on after you have a good readership you will get complaints, and if you have ads from the start people will say you are in it just for the money. There is no winning :P Its one of those things that always has a downside

Some good plugins here, a couple of which are exactly what I have been looking for.
The Adsense ones seem to be far easier to find than the others, so this is really useful information. Thanks Darren

Interesting article.
Infact, I’ve started a blog recently focusing on how to monitize your sites. Its still very much in its infancy, but I have had a lot of success over the years on making money online and I’m sharing the same with others now.
The site is called Online Presence — http://OnlinePresence.BlogSailor.com/

[…] * Via ProBlogger, here is a complete list of options for turning your wordpress blog into a money maker. Personally the only way I’d do any advertising on this blog would be direct ads, but that’s just me. Darren also lets us know how to be a guest blogger and not look like a tool and how run off your readers. Copyblogger has how to build a truly unique blog…which hopefully I’m doing. Lots of great blogging stuff today. […]

Hi Darren, another great post by you!
Btw, as a newbie, I find this challenging. I know how a plugin looks like but I dont know what’s the name to search for. For example, for after every blogpost, you have a “What Next?” I guess it’s a plugin but what is it called?
I have seen some “Read the rest of the entry here” being replaced with “Read in about 5 minutes, ” etc… I want to implement but dont know the name of this sort of plugins.

I hear that there are 6 plugins for Wordpress that can be used to start a product review blog but… I’ve tried to do a Google search to find them myself but I only managed to find 1 of them:
1) The DG Review Site (DGRS) plugin for WordPress
can anybody help here?
